Christmas Thoughts

All tucked in, Christmas night
Waiting for the morning light.
Stocking hangs at end of bed,
Listening out for Santa’s tread.

Dark and cold, Mary tired.
Blue and white, she is attired.
Nowhere to sleep, nowhere to go,
In the bitter winter’s snow.

Loving husband does his best
Finds her a safe place to rest.
Star shines down, wise men come
Jesus born, cold morning sun.

Lying, tucked up safe and sound
Thinking, looking, all around.
Warm and safe and in my bed
Lots of thoughts run through my head.

I thank God for Christmas cheer
Remember what it means each year.
Jesus Christ was born this day
I thank Him now and to Him pray.
