Ahotokurom update

The website of the friends of Ahotokurom, www.ahoto.org, is regularly updated with information from the Leprosy village we sponsor as a parish. Have a look to keep up to date with developments, and to find out more about the village.

Parish fundraising has continued and the 100 Club Spring draw took place on 11 March. Congratulations to all the winners.

At Ahotokurom efforts continue to gather sufficient funds for a new IT training centre. We are hoping to hear more news about this soon. Funds have also been provided to open two new classrooms for the kindergarten school, facilitating its transfer to the neighbouring village of Atonkwa. This has meant that Ahotokurom is able to concentrate on working on disability issues. Transport to and from the new location is by minibus paid for by the efforts of a nearby parish.

As Easter approaches many of the elderly residents of St Clare’s home at Ahotokurom will be making palm crosses. They work through the year making over 200 a week, and a lot of these make their way to parishes in the South East of England. When Passion Sunday comes around why not think especially of Ahotokurom and the people it helps.
