The food preparations must get underway
mince pies and mulled wine for that special day.
Gifts must be wrapped and bows must be tied
and trees must be trimmed and lights hung outside.
Cards must be bought and then must be signed
and addressed and mailed to reach friends on time.
Then Mass Christmas eve with delight we'll attend
Our children will sing and our joys will blend.
Kids be hugged and tucked in, then they lay
awaiting to hear the bells on the sleigh.
Let's light the candles and say a few prayers
We'll remember gone loved ones and shed some new tears.
Then morning comes amidst all the squeals,
glad faces depicting what our children feel;
it makes all the hustle and hurry and run
so very worthwhile for these dear ones.
Again we'll remember the Child in our lives
Given to us when God's son arrived
Our hearts are all-open and we've let Him come in
for He died on the cross to save us from sin.
