The brownies

We do lots of different things at Brownies. We meet on Monday evenings during term times and do lots of activities. Some weeks we do parachuting, cookery and talent shows. We do so many different things. Last term in our talent show some girls did dancing and singing. At another Brownies meeting we had to do public speaking and talk to the other Brownies about a subject that interested us. We work to get certain badges. I’ve got badges for cooking, entertainment, craft, speaking, discovering faith and friends for animals. There's always something to work towards.

Last year at Halloween we had a fancy dress competition. We all dressed up as witches, vampires and goblins. I was a vampire. We’ll probably do the same thing this year. Here is a picture us at last year’s Halloween. At the end of term, we normally have a party. My favourite party is the one we have at Christmas because it's such an exciting time and we're all looking forward to Christmas Day which makes the party so special.
Recently we went away on camp with the Brownies from St. John’s Church. We stayed at a camp site for two nights. On our first day we went to Christmas Farm and saw lots of different goats and donkeys and there was one big goat that was very, very greedy because when I was trying to feed it out of the bucket, it grabbed the bucket in its mouth and ate everything in one go. I wasn’t that pleased with him. On our last night we had a camp fire and we sang songs round it.

Every month we have Church Parade where we go to mass with the Guides, Rainbows, Cubs and Scouts. It gives us all an opportunity to get together. This morning after Church Parade we had a cake sale.

Brownies is great fun. Although I’m looking forward to going up to Guides, I’ll be sorry to leave Brownies.
