Ladies' keep fit

Last month I celebrated 20 years as a keep fit teacher and had a fantastic reunion in the hall with past and present students. We set up a video of demonstration work spanning the years which the audience found hilarious especially the ever changing hair styles! The art group very kindly let me use their screens where we exhibited plenty of memorable photographs amongst which were plenty of Red Nose Day non stop sessions. I remember the first Red Nose Day we raised over £800 in all 5 classes, at that time. What a feat.

We of the Keep Fit Association (KFA) pride ourselves on continuing to teach keep fit movement through exercise and dance to ladies of all ages and abilities. The majority of the time we just have fun and hopefully the keep fit happens along the way.

We use a variety of choreography of movement sometimes using apparatus, e.g. skipping ropes, clubs, hoops, ribbons, scarves. Each week the lesson plan differs and working through a Scheme of Work we make sure we cover every aspect of the body’s capabilities from stretch, conditioning, toning, stamina, memory, coordination and relaxation.

As I said before, we do have fun, and welcome all newcomers, whether you come on your own or with a friend. Why not visit us and test the water?

Monday 8:15pm – 9:30pm at Selsdon Hall.
You need to book this through CETS

Tuesday 8:15pm – 9:30pm at St. Columba’s
Church Hall – pay on 1st visit

Classes return after the summer holidays on Monday: 19th September and Tuesday: 13th September

Remember – we live in times where we are constantly being told that we need to take regular exercise – why not come to PopaGillity and have a good time into the bargain! We’d love to see you.
