Remembering Kath Brown

Newcomers to the parish may not know that the late Kath Brown was a tireless worker for the UCM and ran a ‘Padre Pio’ prayer group for many years. Thanks to Jill O’Donnell for writing this tribute to her….

I met this wonderful person twenty two years ago
My Mum, as with so many, went to her ‘Padre Pio’
She seemed so pure and Holy to me
As near to a Saint as anyone could be.

Her welcome was warm, she was soft of speech,
Always a smile and easy to reach
Her open house was for all who might call
Always her Rosary for one and for all.

She loved her family as all could see
They, and the church were her life, clearly
Such a big part in the UCM she played
Of an active role she was not afraid

Then she left us for a better place
A gap was left - she was not to be replaced
But she must be in Heaven so divine
God must have said- "I will take you for mine".
