Ahotokurom update

There has been more successful fundraising for the Ahotokurom leprosy centre in Ghana . Here’s the latest news from the project committee:

A highly successful music evening in aid of the Ahotokurom project, held on Saturday 8 May, raised nearly £575. The event, in St John's Hall, included a raffle, sale of refreshments and greeting cards, and a retiring collection. More importantly, a programme of music described by one parishioner as ‘enjoyable and really impressive’ kept the audience entertained. Organisers managed to attract many people from outside St Columba's, and would like to thank all those who made the event such a success.

Other donations to the project continue. The retiring collection in March raised nearly £565, and £300 has been received from the parish social committee. The table-top sale on 22 May raised just over £170, which was shared between Ahotokurom and the Croydon Opportunity Playgroup. Watch the weekly newsletter for details of how you can participate in events or contribute to appeals. Information is also provided on a board at the back of the church.
