Parish Quiet Day

Probably like so many people I didn’t quite know what to expect, but I trusted my friends when they said it was a day not to be missed!

In a relaxed and friendly atmosphere we listened to and discussed aspects and origins of Lent. Fr. Tony Skillen was an entertaining and interesting speaker. It was a most enlightening and thought-provoking experience.

There were breaks for coffee, tea and lunch and time to chat with friends, visit the chapels for quiet reflection or enjoy the stunning views. Of course it hadn’t been necessary to go on the basis of ‘I’ll go if you go’ as it was the perfect opportunity to catch up with people I knew from the parish.

The day was topped off with an intimate and uplifting Mass.

I hadn’t been sure if I could spare the time from the usual Sunday activities and demands of family life but the luxury of space and time for reflection was definitely time well spent. What a pity more parishioners didn’t join us.

I was right to trust my friends - trust me, a day not to be missed!
