Winter Trees

Watch the snow dancing around the snowy house
Sweet as a nightingale, timid as a mouse.
Leaping over rooftops
Singing out with glee
Spinning in the midnight air
Swirling around me.

See the ice dancing as quick as a word
Flying through the singing air, graceful as a bird.
Hurtling up into the snow
Singing songs in a midnight tone
Laughing and dancing, all alone
Wriggling in the falling snow.

The frost is singing, sure as life
Singing, cuttingly, like a knife.
Lowering to a gentle drone
Dancing happily in her home
Leaping up and all alone
Falling in the blanket of snow.
